The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) announced in a statement yesterday that it will once again organise a farming experience activity for residents.

The activity consisted of two phases last year.

According to the statement, the first phase of this year’s farming experience activity will open for registration between this Friday and next Monday.

The activity aims to create a chance for residents to get close to nature and gain hands-on farming experience, the statement said.

The first phase of the activity will be held from March 6 to July 3. The four-month activity has a quota of 140 groups, with each group consisting of one to six participants, the statement said.

The cost per group is 250 patacas, the statement said.

The activity will be held at the bureau’s Happy Farm, which is located next to Hac Sá Park in Coloane. The statement said that the activity is “suitable for those aged between three and 80 who are interested in experiencing farming and are capable of engaging in physical outdoor work”.

The activity is only open to local residents.

“Parents are welcome to join the activity with their children as a way of fostering parent-child relationships,” the statement said.

According to the statement, those wanting to join the activity can sign up during the four-day registration period through the bureau’s activity application system on https://app.iam.gov.mo/ActivityWeb.

Residents can also sign up for the activity in person at the bureau’s service centres and other service points across the city during office hours, the statement said.

The statement also said that if the number of groups signing up for the activity exceeds the quota, a computerised lucky draw will be conducted. The results will be announced on Thursday next week on the bureau’s activity application system.
