Macau Legislative Assembly (AL) President Kou Hoi In talks to reporters after yesterday’s Spring Festival lunch hosted by the legislature for some 130 local Chinese-, English and Portuguese-language media representatives at MGM MACAU in Nape. Kou said in a speech at the start of the lunch that the legislature will do its very best in its legislative work concerning the government’s gaming industry amendment bill to do its part to promote the industry’s healthy and orderly development. He also said that the legislature will play its due role in ensuring the long-term prosperity and stability of civil society and residents’ well-being. The veteran lawmaker also said that the legislature will continue to cooperate with the government in speeding up Macau’s appropriate economic diversification, deepening administrative reforms, optimising resident’s livelihoods and promoting the development of the Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. He also thanked the Central People’s Government and Liaison Office for their concern and support.
