The Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) announced in a statement yesterday that its Centre of Experimentation for the Youths will organise various workshops with the theme “Young Family Club – Children’s Fun Time” between this month and April on Saturdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

According to the statement, the workshops will offer young families additional opportunities to enjoy reading picture books together, adding that the workshops aim to enable parents and children to “enjoy the fun of interactive reading”.

The workshops feature reading picture books on “moral education, life education, creative inspiration”, as well as engaging in experiential activities. Various workshops will be conducted in Cantonese, Putonghua, English and Portuguese, the statement added.

The statement pointed out that the activities target children aged between 3 and 12 and their parents, with each workshop limited to 12 parent-child pairs while no fee will be charged.

The statement emphasised that participants must scan the venue’s QR Code, present a valid Macau Health Code, undergo temperature checks, wear a facemask, and clean their hands with alcohol-based hand sanitisers upon entry.

To join, one can log in at www.dsedj.gov.mo and click “Inquiry / Sign-up for Activities” to sign up online, the statement noted.

Moreover, in-person sign ups can be done at the Centre of Experimentation for the Youths, which the statement said is inside the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion in Rua Filipe O’Costa. The centre’s office hours are from 12 noon to 10 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. The application form can be obtained from the DSEDJ website.

The statement said that placement allocations will be determined by lottery and winners will be notified through SMS if the quotas are exceeded.

Further details on the workshops can be found on the website or by calling 2833 2084.
