Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) announced in a statement yesterday that in order to encourage the children or the elderly to get vaccinated against COVID-19, it will offer paid Family Vaccine Leave and Special Vaccine Leave for their employees, after MGM and Wynn launched a similar programme earlier this month.
According to the statement, Galaxy offers the new paid leave scheme to employees who need to accompany their children under the age of 18 or parents aged 70 or above to get jabbed at any of the Health Bureau’s (SSM) vaccination points between next Monday and June 30. The statement pointed out that the employee can have a day off on the day of their family member’s vaccination in order to extend the care to their family members. The statement added that if their employees get an additional dose during the same time period, they can also enjoy a day off on the day of, or on the following day, of the vaccination. The statement noted that 95 percent of GEG’s staff have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Wynn Macau made a similar announcement on Tuesday, offering up to three days of additional leave to enable staff to accompany their children or senior family members when they get inoculated and to care for them afterwards between next Monday and June 30. The statement noted that its special family vaccine leave will be available to all staff whose children or elderly parents are getting their first, second or third dose of the COVID-19 shot in Macau. The statement pointed out that staff members who have completed their vaccination doses can enjoy up to two days of special leave, while those who are getting their booster dose are also entitled to have a special day of leave. The statement noted that 95 percent of its employees are vaccinated against COVID-19.
MGM China Holdings also said in a statement on Tuesday that staff can apply for up to three days of additional holiday when accompanying underage children or senior parents for their jabs.
