A TCM bus crashed into the railings when entering the flyover near the Sands Macao casino-hotel in Nape last night, injuring the driver and four passengers, the authorities said.

According to a statement by the Fire Services Bureau (CB), the accident occurred at around 9 p.m. yesterday when the No. 3A route bus rammed into the railings when entering the flyover from Avenida da Amizade (友誼大馬路).

The five injured comprising two males and three females are local residents. The four injured passengers are aged between 26 and 53.

The 64-year-old driver passed a breathalyser test, the Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement.

All the five sustained slight injuries, and were taken to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre or the private Kiang Wu Hospital.

According to the CB statement, the driver sustained contusions to his chest, while the four passengers sustained forehead, nose, pelvis or waist injuries.

The police have launched an investigation into the exact cause of the accident.

TCM representatives told local media last night that they suspected that the driver failed to control the speed appropriately.

TCM also said that the driver, who started to work for the company in 2018, was not involved in any traffic accidents while working last year, and this year until yesterday.
