Crimes of armed robberies, attacks and kidnappings have recently happened against Chinese citizens in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Given the security situation in the DRC, the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) yesterday urged Macau residents not to travel to the central African country for now. Macau residents who are currently in the DRC are urged to pay close attention to the severity of the situation and the security risks there, enhance their awareness of risk prevention and leave the country as soon as possible.
In order for every Chinese citizen in the DRC to obtain better and prompter consular protection and assistance, the Chinese embassy in the DRC requests Chinese citizens in that country to report their personal information to the embassy before April 20 (via the link: https://www.wjx.cn/vj/hs1jEnv.aspx or the respective QR code).
