The Philippine Consulate General in Macau announced in a statement yesterday that over 40 percent of the registered Filipino voters in Macau have cast their ballots in the two weeks since the overseas voting period for the upcoming Philippine presidential elections began.
The statement pointed out that there are a total of 14,636 registered voters in the city. According to the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), there were a total of 27,458 Philippine non-resident workers by the end of February.
The overseas voting period runs until May 9 (election day in the Philippines), with the voting venue at the Harbourview Hotel in Avenida Dr Sun Yat-Sen.
