A 73-year-old local woman suffering from multiple illnesses “fell” off a high-rise building yesterday, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the woman surnamed Ng suffered from multiple illnesses including high blood pressure and gout. Recently the gout had become serious enough to limit her mobility. She was living alone.
The statement said that the police received a report at 8:41 a.m. yesterday saying that a woman was found lying in front of a building in Rua do General Ivens Ferraz in Fai Chi Kei district. The statement said after the police arrived at the scene, they suspected the woman committed suicide as the woman’s relatives told them she had grown weary of suffering from chronic illnesses.
The statement said no suicide note was found in the flat. However, the statement classified the case as a suspected suicide. An autopsy will be carried out to confirm the exact cause of the woman’s death.
