The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) urged vendors inside and outside municipal wet markets to always follow COVID-19 prevention and control measures, reminding them to wear facemasks properly.
Vendors, the statement noted, are reminded by the bureau that if they need to drink water, they should do so when customers are not around. Masks must be put on again immediately after drinking. The statement added that in order to protect their own health and safety, as well as to follow pandemic prevention measures, the vendors are “not allowed to eat during the opening hours of their stalls”, the statement pointed out.
Moreover, the bureau has already distributed special permit cards in line with the government’s measures to enable vendors to commute to and from their workplace and go home for meals as well as rest during lunch breaks, the statement said.
The statement reaffirmed that the bureau has required vendors inside and outside markets to complete rapid antigen tests (RATs) daily prior to going to work, while inspectors have continued to enhance inspections and remind vendors to strictly follow hygiene and pandemic prevention guidelines, as well as take personal hygiene protection measures.
Meanwhile, those entering markets must properly wear a facemask, undergo a temperature check, and present a valid green Macau Health Code and venue QR code.
