Bus crashes into lorry carrying bamboo poles

A public bus yesterday afternoon crashed into the back of a lorry carrying a bundle of bamboo poles in Taipa with the poles smashing the bus windscreen and narrowly missing the 62-year-old driver.

The driver suffered cuts to his forehead from the flying glass and bruises to his chest from hitting the steering wheel. He was taken to the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre, after being removed from the damaged bus by firemen, according to the Fire Services Bureau (CB).

The New Era bus crashed into the back of the lorry near Wynn Palace in Cotai, because the bus driver failed to brake on time, according to the bureau.
