A resident reported to the Macau Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) at 4 p.m. yesterday that he or she “felt” the earthquake that occurred in Taitung county in Taiwan at 2:44 p.m. yesterday, the epicentre of which was located at 23.10N latitude, 121.30E longitude, with a magnitude of 6.9, according to a SMG statement.
The statement noted that the last earthquake felt in Macau was a magnitude 4.1 earthquake that occurred on March 14 in coastal waters off Huizhou city in Guangdong province, about 156 kilometres east-northeast of Macau.
