The Social Security Fund (FSS) announced in a statement yesterday that eligible seniors can now file their old-age pension applications without visiting a service point through the Macao One Account app or website.
According to the statement, the amount of the old-age pensionthat the applicant can receive based on his/her actual circumstances will be automatically calculated by the system, which will also show their basic information. To complete the application process, the applicants only need to provide bank account details and undertake facial recognition.
The statement noted that whether they are aged over 65, or over 60 but are under 65, the Social Security System beneficiaries enrolled before January 1 2011 (old system) or after (new system) can apply for the pension through the app or website. That is, provided that they meet the requirements by making contributions for at least 60 months and have habitually resided in Macau for at least seven years, the statement pointed out.
The statement added that upon accessing Macao One Account’s old age pension application page, the system will show information including the amount of old-age pension that the applicant can receive and the accumulated contribution months.
After confirming the information, he/she will enter the application information page. The statement said that the system will show the applicant’s basic information such as their name and beneficiary number, while they will only need to choose receiving bank and fill in the personal pataca bank account number.
Moreover, the statement added that the applicant, if necessary, can also change his/her address on FSS records and upload the “bank information photos showing the bank name, account name, account number and currency”.
Upon verifying all of the information and completing facial recognition, the application can be submitted. The web version maintains the same steps, but the statement said that a mobile device such as a phone will be needed for the facial recognition part of the process.
The beneficiary can then check his/her application status by logging into Macao One Account after completing their application. For enquiries, one can call 2853 2850 during office hours or visit www.fss.gov.mo.
