The government’s Science and Technology Development Fund will encourage research institutions to apply for subsidies for research projects on Macau’s development into a smart city, Frederico Ma Chi Nga, who heads the fund, said yesterday.
Ma made the comments while speaking to reporters at Government Headquarters after attending an annual meeting of the government-appointed Science and Technology Council yesterday.
The council, headed by Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, was founded in 2001 as an advisory body on the development of science and technology in the city. The council meets once a year.
