The honorary chairman of the Macau Building Materials Enterprises Association, Iao Chio Ieng, said yesterday it was a good idea to use eco-friendly building materials for construction projects as they cost just a bit more than traditional building materials.
Iao made the comments while speaking to reporters at The Plaza Restaurant in Zape where his group announced in a press conference a construction project internship scheme for students of civil engineering and architecture.
Iao said the cost of eco-friendly building materials was only slightly higher than the one of conventional building materials.
