Asked by reporters yesterday about the case of a 15-year-old schoolboy who had sex with a girl aged 12 two days after they became friends on a social networking website in October, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) Youth Department Chief Un Hoi Cheng said the bureau would step up its efforts to provide young people with sex education.
Un made the remarks on the sidelines of an activity hosted by the Macau New Chinese Youth Association at the government-run Areia Preta Health Centre.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) told the media last week that the girl’s mother told the Public Security Police (PSP) that her daughter “ran away from home” at around 10 a.m. last Sunday. After her daughter returned home at about 7 p.m. on that day, the mother took her to the Public Security Police to have the case cancelled.
