The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has launched its “Craft Market Booth Operator Database” to facilitate cultural and creative industries’ applications for various types of craft and cultural and creative markets, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.

The bureau, according to the statement, collects information from local cultural and creative practitioners involved in “original craft creation and cultural and creative product design”, as well as services offering “cultural and artistic experiences” and are interested in joining craft and cultural and creative markets, to be added to the database. It aims to be an exchange platform and facilitate the local cultural and creative industries’ sustainable development, the statement said.

The database now accepts registration for local practitioners, with the statement adding that registrants can log onto the database using their “Macao One Account” and submit information including brand introduction and product list.

The statement points out that the products registered must be original designs with at least 10 models available for sale, and may also include services offering “cultural and artistic experiences”.

Those eligible, the statement said, can apply for local craft and cultural and creative markets such as the Tap Siac Craft Market through the database in the future and also have a chance to apply for those outside of Macau.

Tap Siac is the government’s alternative spelling of Tap Seac.

Moreover, product information and development of the practitioners’ original brands can be updated by logging onto the database at any time, the statement noted.

More details and the database’s objectives can be found at www5.icm.gov.mo/craftmarketV2, while enquiries can be made by contacting IC representatives Ms. Zhou or Ms. Ng on 8399 6289 or 8399 6291 during office hours or emailing info.dpicc@icm.gov.mo.
