The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday that the “Macao•Hengqin Craft Market” is calling for booth operators until next Thursday, adding that application for the booths is free.

According to the statement, the Tap Siac Craft Market, a cultural and creative project developed under the “Culture and Tourism Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area [GBA]”, is being extended to Hengqin to promote artistic and cultural exchanges, as well as the creative industries sector between the two regions.

It is organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Cooperation Zone.

Tap Siac is the government’s alternative spelling for Tap Seac.

The statement noted that the event will be held in Ocean Square outside Zhuhai Chimelong Ocean Kingdom from December 9-11 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be 112 booths for Macau “handicraft aficionados” and those interested can log onto www5.icm.gov.mo/craftmarketV2/ with their “Macao One Account” to submit application materials, the statement said.

Products registered, the statement added, must be original designs, while the minimum number of types of products for sale is 10. Services offering “cultural and artistic experiences” can also be included.

Lots will be drawn if eligible applicants exceed the number of booths, the statement noted.

The statement said that the Cultural Affairs Bureau follows the health authorities’ COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures and guidelines, and will act accordingly.

For enquiries, one can contact IC representatives Ms Lio or Ms Zhou by calling 8399 6292 or 8399 6289 during office hours.
