The Finance Services Bureau (DSF) announced in a statement yesterday that it has begun to refund overpaid personal income tax (imposto profissional) for last year, involving about 60,400 taxpayers, of whom about 42,000 received their tax refunds through bank transfer yesterday, accounting for 70 percent of the total tax refunds.

The remaining taxpayers who have not signed up for bank transfer will then receive a “notice of personal income tax refund” by registered mail to collect their reimbursements, the statement underlined.

The statement said that taxpayers who think they may have overpaid their 2021 personal income tax can access their tax refund information directly through the bureau’s “Macau Tax” app or e-Services system.

Tax enquiries can also be made by calling 2833 6886.
