Sands China said in a statement on Wednesday that it was honoured for its wine selections and menu pairing at the 2022 China’s Wine List of the Year, winning a total of 22 awards.

The statement noted that the awards were announced on November 14 in Shanghai.

Launched in 2012, China’s Wine List of the Year Awards, the statement added, is the “first and most prestigious awards programme for wine and beverage lists in China”.

The annual event appraises winning restaurants in three award categories – ‘One Glass,’ ‘Two Glasses’ or ‘Three Glasses’ rankings – in the whole nation (mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), according to the statement. It also has various individual awards highlighting the year’s best sommeliers, managers and institutions in the industry.

The Venetian Macao’s North, Portofino, Hiro by Hiroshi Kagata and Jiang Nan by Jereme Leung were awarded with the Three Glasses rating. At The Londoner Macao, Churchill’s Table and North Palace were awarded with Three Glasses, while The Huiyang Garden and Chiado both won Two Glasses.

Meanwhile, The Parisian Macao’s Brasserie, La Chine and Lotus Palace were awarded Three Glasses. This was also the same rating given to Sands Macao’s Copa Steakhouse and Golden Court, the statement said, while Four Seasons Hotel Macao’s Zi Yat Heen won Two Glasses.

The statement added that at The St. Regis Macao, The St. Regis Bar was awarded Two Glasses while The Manor was awarded Three Glasses. Moreover, The Manor also won China’s Wine List of the Year 2022 – Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the “highest honour”, along with  “Best Wine List – Macao”, “Best Hotel Restaurant List”, “China’s Outstanding Sommelier of the Year 2022 – Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan”, and “China’s Outstanding F&B Director/Manager/Owner of the Year 2022 – Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan”.

Sands China also won ‘Best Core Wines by the Glass List in a Hotel Group.’

Sands China Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage Operations Tom Connolly was quoted by the statement as saying: “We are delighted to have been honoured once again at this key industry event, which recognises our continuous efforts to introduce the finest wines from around the globe and enhance our food and wine combinations.”
