The Health Bureau (SSM) announced in a statement yesterday that starting today, the validity of the negative rapid antigen test (RAT) result for those entering the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre and public health centres was shortened to just two hours based on the testing time shown on their Macau Health Code.
The statement underlined that aside from showing their Macau Health Code and undergoing a temperature check, everyone, including visitors and patients, must wear a KN95 facemask at all times when they are in the public hospital and health centres.
At the same time, the statement added, anyone planning to go to the public hospital’s emergency department needs to undergo on-site rapid antigen testing before entering the hospital.
According to the statement, the hospital continues to limit the number of visitors, so no more than two members of the same family can enter the ward at a time.
Jail resumes visitation from tomorrow
Meanwhile, a statement by the Macau Correctional Services Bureau (DSC) yesterday said that in response to the government’s latest COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures it will resume fortnightly visits to the prisoners and juvenile detainees from tomorrow.
The statement underlined that visitors and lawyers entering the prison and juvenile detention centre must hold a negative nucleic acid test (NAT) result valid within 24 hours and a negative RAT result valid on the same day, show their Macau Health Code and undergo a temperature check, while wearing a facemask at all times.
The bureau urged all visitors to wear a KN95 facemask or one with a higher standard during their visit.
If a prisoner or juvenile detainee has been diagnosed with COVID-19, their visits will be suspended until further notice, according to the statement.
