The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) announced yesterday that its Support Hotline for Infected Persons on 2870 0600 will stop operating from today.
An IAS statement noted that from December 14 to January 15, the hotline received more than 40,000 calls, but in the wake of Macau’s current COVID situation, the number of phone calls has dropped significantly, from dozens to about 10 in recent days.
The statement said that enquiries on medical matters can be made to medical institutions directly, while questions about the government’s COVID-19 prevention and control measures can be discussed with the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre on 2870 0800 from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. daily. Residents can still leave a voice message from 00:00 a.m. to 9 a.m. which will be recorded on the system and which the centre’s staff will reply to later that day.
For emotional support services, members of the public can call the IAS 24-hour Psychological Counselling Hotline on 2826 1126, according to the statement.
