The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Portugal-China Young Entrepreneurs Association (AJEPC) held an online-offline event called the “Join Macao, Seize PSCs Opportunities” Online Investor Presentation Session yesterday that was attended by over 30 enterprises, the government institute said in a statement.

The statement noted that the event was held to promote Macau and the Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin to overseas markets, and Macau’s advantage as a China-Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) platform.

The event was simultaneously held in Macau and Portugal, with representatives from the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin providing a presentation.

The statement added that during the meeting, IPIM representatives introduced Macau’s business advantages and its future plans for the MICE industry, as well as promoted the “China-PSC Business Compass”, which provides a range of support services to companies and organisations interested in developing markets in the mainland and PSCs.

Meanwhile, the cooperation zone’s economic development departments’ representatives introduced the overall development of the zone and its supporting policies, noting that the “Regulation for Promoting Development of the Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin” will come into effect on March 1, providing legal protection for the zone’s development and creating a “first-class business environment under the rule of law”.

The statement added that the AJEPC representatives talked about their business and investment experiences and encouraged Portuguese-speaking enterprises interested in exploring the mainland market to “make the most of the advantages and development opportunities” of the Macau China-PSC platform.

Moreover, the statement said that Macau Lawyers Association and the Macau Association of Banks members were also invited to introduce the city’s “bilingual professional services and financial system”.
