The results of the final lucky draw of Macau’s first-ever citywide “Consumption Carnival” were released yesterday in a session hosted by the Macau Chamber of Commerce (ACM – popularly known as Chung Chung) and other sponsors, with the 78 awardees winning a total between them of one million patacas in cash as well as food and staycation prizes totalling three million patacas.

The final lucky draw and the closing ceremony for the “Consumption Carnival” was held at the Ho Yin Memorial Hall in the Macau Chamber of Commerce (ACM) building in Zape yesterday, and was witnessed by an auditor. The winners will be notified in due course.

Those with real-name authentication of their electronic wallet and who spent at least 68 patacas in a single amount in local offline shops, were automatically entered into yesterday’s final lucky draw.

In a speech before the lucky draw, ACM President Frederico Ma Chi Ngai said that thanks to the support of the central and local governments, civil society and members of public, Macau has been able to overcome a difficult time, and that the chamber will jointly organise activities with local business and trading communities to promote local development so as to help the local economy recover.

Economic and Technology Development Bureau (DSEDT) Director Tai Kin Ip addressed the closing ceremony, underling that the carnival had boosted residents’ desire to splash out and given a boost to the local consumption atmosphere, as well as strengthened different sector’s confidence in their business prospects.

Tai said the government would continue to provide appropriate support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to create a better business environment and promote local businesses’ digital transformation.

The four-month consumption promotion activity, which was launched in October, was co-organised by the bureau and the chamber. It has generated 21 million transactions, and 1.65 billion patacas in spending with more than 23,000 businesses participating.

The results of the final lucky draw for the “Consumption Carnival” will be uploaded to the official website today at https://proj.dakuu.cn/h5/#/subPackages/consumption-carnival/pages/index/index?g=741577.
