A female corpse was found lying in a flat in a residential building on Travessa do Cais, according to a statement by the Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday.
The statement said that the corpse was a female Macau resident, aged about 57, who was chronically ill.
The statement said the Judiciary Police were informed about the case by the Fire Services Bureau (CB) at 9:36 a.m. yesterday, requesting the police send officers to investigate.
According to a preliminary investigation, the message said, the corpse was lying on her back on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood.
Upon examination of the surface of the body, no suspicious injuries were found, the statement said.
The case has been listed as dead-body found, the message said, adding that the exact cause of death could only be confirmed after a forensic examination.
The statement did not disclose any details about the woman’s family.
