Hainan lies some 410 kilometres southwest of Macau.

The statement said that Miao affirmed the progress of the working group for the promotion of cooperation between Hainan and Macau since its establishment last year, adding that she was looking forward to further exchanges and cooperation between officials from both sides, as well as between universities and tourism colleges.
