A 26-year-old local man was arrested for taking upskirt photos of a Form Six female student when returning to Macau via the Hengqin checkpoint in Cotai last Monday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said during a regular press conference on Friday.
According to Wong, the suspect, who told the police that he works as a chef, is surnamed Lou.
The Public Security Police received a report from a woman at about 7:30 a.m. last Monday that a man, who was stopped by the checkpoint’s security guards, was seen taking upskirt photos of her daughter when they were on an escalator, Wong said.
Wong added that under questioning by the PSP officers who arrived at the scene, Lou admitted that he had taken upskirt photos of the victim, claiming that the photos had been deleted.
Upon checking the suspect’s mobile phone, the officers found five upskirt photos of other women on his mobile phone, which Lou claimed, were taken at the same place between April 4 and April 8 on an escalator.
Lou has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing an invasion of privacy charge, according to Wong.
