The Judiciary Police (PJ) received a report from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) yesterday at 3:30 p.m. that a man suspected of having burned charcoal was found dead in a hotel guestroom in Zape, according to a PJ statement.
The victim was a 46-year-old local man.
The statement said that as the victim did not check out by the designated time, hotel staff went to the room to check and found the man lying unconscious in the bathtub. A vessel containing burning charcoal was also found at the scene.
No suspicious injuries were found on the body, and the exact cause of his death has yet to be confirmed by an official autopsy.
