IC to host activities on ‘China Cultural & Natural Heritage Day’

A raft of activities will be hosted by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) during the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” on June 10, according to an IC statement on Tuesday.

The statement noted that various workshops will be held at cultural facilities during the day such as the “Workshop of Dragon Boat Festival Sachet Making” at the Macao Museum Gift Shop and the “Workshop of Scented Moxa Sachet Making” at The House of Macao Literature.

Open to free admission, the statement said that registration for the workshops can be done through “Macao One Account” on https://activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5/activity-list-web

A lucky draw will be held if the number of registrants exceed the maximum participant number, the statement underlined. Meanwhile, registration for the “Genesis and Spirit – Arts and Crafts Workshops of Hainan Intangible Cultural Heritage”, which is scheduled from July 1-2, will be available from June 13.

Meanwhile, the Guia Lighthouse will be open to members of the public from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on June 10-11, while the Macao Museum will also be open to free admission from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guided tours of The House of Macao Literature will also be available from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 11 and 18, as well as at various heritage sites at the weekends, according to the statement.

The highlight of the celebration, the statement said, is the “Genesis and Spirit – Showcase of Hainan Intangible Cultural Heritage”, which will be presented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the local Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture. It is organised by different entities and will showcase Hainan province’s cultural appeal and unique intangible cultural heritage through different activities from June 30.
