A first-of-its-kind artificial intelligence (AI) Art & Technology Exhibition series in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) called ARTECH has recently been launched by One Central Macau, with the first exhibition being held titled “Starry Night Garden”.
The exhibition, which runs until July 31, is curated by ART PRINCE ADVISORY in partnership with the shopping mall in Nape.
The exhibition features a 360° immersive AI art space called Full Moon and Blossoming Flower (花好月圓大觀園) created by Hong Kong artist William Lim (林偉而), who used his classic oil paintings for the AI artspace, in conjunction with Hong Kong award-winning creative agency “Kaiju Matter”.
Lim said in a statement provided during a media tour last week that he has created several paintings in the past few years during the COVID-19 pandemic, many of which are influenced by Van Gogh’s works. “I am very happy to share my latest artistic creations with everyone in Macau,” Lim added.
The exhibition also debuts the VG39 digital art series, which the statement pointed out is “the world’s first limited edition of ‘phygital’ artworks certified by the Van Gogh Sites Foundation” and is presented by Hong Kong-based web3 company Appreciator.io in conjunction with the Van Gogh Sites Foundation in the Netherlands.
Moreover, a metaverse creation art zone and workshop designed by INDEX GAME and multimedia artworks by renowned Hong Kong digital artists, among others, are also featured. The statement added that ARTECH also introduces a workshop on using AI techniques to generate images, characters, and personas.
