While the scholarships for applicants from Macau are for bachelor’s degree courses, those for their counterparts from Guangdong and Fujian are for master’s degree courses.

The scholarship, which aims to encourage exchanges between students from Macau, Guangdong and Fujian as well as countries or regions that are part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), to give full play to Macau’s location as an important BRI hub, and to prepare qualified talents for the development of the “Belt & Road”, the statement noted.

There are 20 scholarship quotas available, with four quotas on the list as alternates, for full-time studies in Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia, Hungary, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Portugal, Thailand or Vietnam, the scholarships of which range from 60,000 to 80,000 patacas per year depending on the place of study.

The candidates will be notified of the results of the evaluation and selection in writing in the first half of August, while the final list will be published on the Macao Foundation official website at www.fmac.org.mo.
