Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On will pay a working visit to the capital next week for talks on the planning and management of Macau’s coastal waters, the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) announced yesterday.

According to the announcement, Chui and his entourage will be in Beijing from Wednesday, All Souls’ Day, to Friday. All Souls’ Day is a public holiday in Macau.

The announcement said Chui would meet the “competent authorities” in Beijing.

The central government last year granted Macau jurisdiction over 85 square kilometres of its surrounding sea to help boost its economic development. The measure took effect on December 20, 2015.
