A woman from Guizhou province was arrested on Saturday for pimping a 14-year-old girl from the same province in Macau, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said at a special press briefing yesterday.
According to the spokesperson, a security guard at a hotel in Cotai had suspicions about the victim, which were not elaborated on in the briefing, when he called the Public Security Police (PSP) on Friday. The case was then transferred to the Judiciary Police for further investigation.
The spokesperson said that the 14-year-old had met two women in her hometown who told her that she could get a job selling cosmetics in Macau. She was brought to the city in August and had been forced by the two women to work as a prostitute in Cotai ever since.
