Raffles at Galaxy Macau is slated to have its soft opening on Wednesday August 16, while a grand opening is set for the end of this year, Galaxy Macau said in a statement on Wednesday.

The resort operator, in partnership with hospitality company Accor, unveiled the property this month with an exclusive “first look” at several dining venues, while further details on upcoming features are to be revealed during the soft opening, the statement noted.

According to the statement, the luxury property is the first entry for the Raffles brand in Macau and marks the 7th hospitality brand at Galaxy Macau, adding around 450 new suites. The property also joins 18 Raffles hotels in different parts of the world, the statement said.

The statement noted that the property is located at the resort’s east promenade and features a “digital canvas with a glass airbridge connecting the two towers on every floor” and offers “breath-taking vistas” of the Macau skyline and over the integrated resort.

The property, which will blend the Raffles brand and its 136-year tradition of “impeccable service” with Galaxy Macau’s “dynamic energy”, will immerse guests in highly curated spaces such as suites inspired by the aesthetics of a modern Italian Palace, and an in-suite digital art canvas; a Mediterranean-inspired pool terrace and garden elevated over Galaxy Macau’s Grand Resort Deck, and its “breath-taking” lobby, the statement added.

The Raffles Lounge & Terrace in the lobby will offer a “very tailored take” on traditional afternoon tea and all-day comforts, the statement said. The hotel also features an oyster and champagne bar, while other highlights are the Million Dollar Cocktail and the Belvedere on the 6th floor, which offers international delicacies in a glass pool house.

The statement added that anticipated highlights of the opening later this year include a Teppan restaurant being developed by Chef and Sushi Master Masaaki Miyakawa, who is one of only five Three-Star Michelin Sushi Chefs in Japan. He will also helm a new signature Sushi-Kappo concept. Another highlight is a local adaptation of the brand’s historic Long Bar.
