Wynn Resorts said in a recent statement that it is launching a host of culinary events this month, including an International Wine Challenge (IWC) Prestige Sake Feast and a “Taste the Bounty of Land and Sea” Celebrity Chef Series.
The world’s largest wine competition – IWC Prestige Sake Feast – featuring Walkaround Tasting sessions, an award-winning Masterclass session conducted by Japan’s first “Master of Wine”, Champion Sake Dinner and the IWC Trophy Champion Sake Gala Dinner will be held from July 21 - 22 at Wynn Macau in Nape and Wynn Palace in Cotai, with eight of the top-rated Trophy Sake makers from Japan having been invited to present their finest sakes, which have garnered Gold Medals and Trophy Awards from IWC’s nine judging categories and the highest honour of “Champion” sake of the year, according to the statement.
The statement said that the competition, which was founded in London in 1984 by renowned wine writers Robert Joseph and Charles Metcalfe, aims to select the world’s finest wines with the use of blind tasting methods by professional judges from around the world on three separate occasions. The statement added that the IWC sake competition was introduced in 2007 and has since become the biggest sake competition outside of Japan.
Meanwhile, according to the statement, the “Taste the Bounty of Land and Sea” Celebrity Chef Series event will be held at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace between today and July 19, during which two chefs whose restaurants have been ranked on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list several times – Owner Chef Takeshi Fukuyama of Goh restaurant in Japan and Executive Chef Tam Kwok Fung of Wing Lei Palace at Wynn Palace in Cotai, as well as two chefs of restaurants which have received the One Diamond honour from the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide – Executive Chef Abby Chen of Maison Papillon in Shanghai and Cantonese Executive Chef Lu Gongjie of YIJINGSTING in Kunming – will present their culinary skills.
