A joint exhibition titled “MusicArt”, a cross-disciplinary experiment of music and art, presents the works of 17 local and mainland artists at the Rui Cunha Foundation until July 22.
The exhibition, which features 17 artworks curated by singer, actor and local artist Júlio Acconci, includes paintings, oils, acrylics, watercolours, and digital and mixed media, among others, according to a recent Rui Cunha Foundation statement.
Acconci is a member of the Soler rock duo.
The exhibition, the statement noted, is divided into four sections: String Connections, Synesthesia, Imaging and Fusion. It aims to convey “various emotions of contemporary society and to explore the diverse possibilities of cross-disciplinary art”.
Moreover, the statement added that the project will also feature collaborations from the Macao Vocal Association and the Macao Jazz Promotion Association, with “Saturday Night Jazz” slated to take place this Saturday at 5 p.m. and features a presentation of an original piece created for the concert.
The statement said that for Acconci, in today’s “increasingly intense clash of different cultures and ideas, this cross-disciplinary art experiment may help us better understand the era we live in”, while promoting the “vigorous development” of local art in Macau.
The Rui Cunha Foundation is open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturdays, it is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is closed on Sundays and public holidays. For more information, visit https://ruicunha.org/frc/
