A local man who is in his fifties “fell” from a residential building and died upon impact yesterday afternoon, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman said in a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, the Fire Services Bureau (CB) and the Public Security Police (PSP) notified the Judiciary Police at 10:12 a.m. on Saturday that a man had died in a “fall” from a flat on Rampa da Taipa Grande in Taipa. The bureau requested PJ officers go to the scene to investigate.
The man’s brother told PJ officers that at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, he found that his brother was not in his bedroom, and then found the deceased’s slippers on the balcony of one of the other rooms, the statement said.
After looking down from the balcony, he saw his brother lying on the platform on the second floor, and immediately called the police.
The statement said that no suicide note was found at the scene.
A preliminary examination of the body showed that the injuries of multiple fractures were consistent with a fall from a height, according to the statement, which pointed out that there were no suspected criminal injuries on the body.
The exact cause of death would be confirmed after a forensic examination, the statement said, adding that the case was preliminarily listed as a dead body found.
