Macau’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced in a statement last night that from tomorrow those entering the mainland from Macau after arriving here from Taiwan or foreign countries will no longer be required to display a COVID-19 test result.

The new measure will take effect at 00:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Last night’s statement by the centre noted that in compliance with the mainland’s new entry measure for all arrivals, which was announced yesterday and will take effect tomorrow, the Macau government will now “correspondingly adjust” its COVID-19 measure for those entering the mainland from Macau after arriving here from the Taiwan region or foreign countries.

The central government announced yesterday that from tomorrow all those entering the mainland will no longer be required to display a COVID-19 test result.

Currently, those entering the mainland from Macau within seven days after arriving here from the Taiwan region or foreign countries are required to display a 48-hour negative COVID-19 result, either a nucleic acid test (NAT) result or rapid antigen test (RAT) result. Those aged three or below are exempted from a COVID-19 test.
