Grassroots lawmaker Au Kam San yesterday called for a gradual change in the composition of the Legislative Assembly (AL), in order to achieve the ultimate aim of universal suffrage for the election of all legislators, i.e. popular vote for all legislative seats.
Au made the comments while speaking to reporters during a forum about the 40th anniversary of the beginning of legislative elections in Macau as well as the possible development of the legislative elections in the future.
The forum, organised by the Macau Community Development Initiative (MCDI) group, was held yesterday at the Diocesan Youth Pastoral Centre near the Red Market.
