The head of the student counselling section of the University of Macau’s Student Affairs Office, Sou Kuai Long, said yesterday that over 90 per cent of UM undergraduate students found jobs within three months of their graduation, with a median income of 15,000 patacas per month, last year, adding that 40 per cent of them found jobs in areas in line with the majors they graduated in.
Sou made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of a two-day annual career fair on the campus of the public university on Hengqin Island.
Sou told The Macau Post Daily yesterday that the university periodically organises students’ trips to the Greater Bay Area (GBA) cities such as Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Zhuhai for internships, so as to offer UM graduates more employment opportunities.
