A survey has revealed a high level of employee turnover intention among public servants, Macau Civil Servants Federation (MCSF) President Pang Kung Hou said during a press conference at the group’s office in the city centre.

Social scientists use turnover intention as a measurement of whether an organisation’s employees plan to leave their positions or whether that organisation plans to remove employees from their positions. Turnover intention can be either voluntary or involuntary.

The findings of the survey about government workers’ job satisfaction and stress levels were released at the press conference. Conducted by the MCSF, Macau Chinese Civil Servants’ Association and the Macau Federation of Trade Unions’ Policy Research and Information Division, 1,540 valid questionnaires were collected from 27 government entities, mostly bureaus, between June and September.
