Asia-Pacific Live Performance Industry Association (APLPIA) Co-Chairwoman Florence Chan (陳淑芬) announced yesterday that Macau will host the Asia Performance Entertainment Expo for the first time.
Chen made the announcement during a press conference at the Forum Macao Complex in Nam Van, which will take place on November 17-19 at the Venetian’s Cotai Expo.
Chan said the expo aims to drive the growth of the live performance industry in the Asia-Pacific region, bring together international and regional industry peers, cultural performance funding organisations, technical professionals, new media platforms and related companies in the field, and facilitate cultural exchange among Asian countries through exhibitions, performances, seminars, and business matching.
Chan said that APLPIA chose to host the expo for the first time in Macau in the hope of establishing a platform for stakeholders in the performance industry to meet and discuss the possibilities of different performances, thereby promoting the development of the performance industry and other related industries in the Asia Pacific region. Chan also said she expected the expo to become an annual event in Macau for the Asian performance industry and continue to unite the industry to jointly develop more high-quality performance entertainment projects.
Chan said that the expo will feature nearly 180 exhibitors with a diverse range of industry participants, adding that renowned industry leaders, such as Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), Maoyan Entertainment, Damai, Tencent, and Douyin as participants, are expected to attract over 500 professional buyers and over 10,000 public visitors to generate more than US$100 million in revenue.
During the event, an Entertainment Industry Forum will be held, providing attendees with the invaluable opportunity to engage in knowledge and experience sharing with industry leaders and experts, while delving into the industry’s forward-looking evolution, Chan said.
Additionally, exhibitors from different regions will be invited to promote and discuss concert tours, artistes’ music albums, film and television projects, as well as up-to-date information regarding technological advancements in the entertainment industry, Chan said.
