Show flats of the Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) residential project in Zhuhai’s Hengqin island are open to members of the public from today, Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) announced in a statement yesterday.

Free shuttle bus services between the MNN neighbourhood and the Zhuhai-side checkpoint zone of the Hengqin-Macau joint border checkpoint are available from today, the statement said.

The company said last week that it was now aiming to start MNN home sales this month. MNN home sales were initially slated to start in September.

The MNN project, which got off the ground in 2021, is developed by MUR, which is owned by the Macau government.

The MNN neighbourhood consists of 27 residential towers with 19 to 26 floors each. The project will provide around 4,000 units for purchase, as well as around 200 units earmarked for highly-qualified professionals for rent only.

Macau residents aged 18 or over who do not own any residential property in Zhuhai nor own more than one residential unit in Macau will be eligible to buy an MNN flat.

The MNN flats will be sold at an average price of 30,000 yuan per square metre.

The MNN neighbourhood will have a school, a health station, a service centre for senior citizens, and a family service centre.

Yesterday’s statement reaffirmed that the MNN project has entered its final survey inspection and formal acceptance stage, adding that the neighbourhood’s landscaping and road works have now been completed.

MUR, which was incorporated in Macau in April 2019, set up a fully-owned subsidiary, Zhuhai Hengqin Macau New Neighbourhood Development Company Limited, in Zhuhai in March 2020 to carry out the development of the MNN project.

Yesterday’s statement said that Zhuhai Hengqin Macau New Neighbourhood Development Company Limited is now applying for the Hengqin authorities’ issuance of the MNN residential estate’s occupancy permit.

The MNN flats for sale are fitted-out units equipped with major household appliances, such as hot-and-cold air conditioners, a water heater, a tableware steriliser, gas hobs, and a kitchen hood.

Some 80 percent of the MNN residential units are two-bedroom flats, while the remaining 20 percent are three-bedroom flats. Each two-bedroom flat has a gross floor area of about 88 square metres, while each three-bedroom flat has a gross floor area of about 118 square metres.

Show flats’ opening hours, shuttle bus schedules

Yesterday’s statement said that from today the MNN estate’s fully furnished and decorated show flats as well as fitted-out units are open to members of the public, comprising two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats.

According to the statement, the on-site show flats and fitted-out units are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except on the mainland’s public holidays.

From today, free shuttle bus services between the MNN estate and the Hengqin checkpoint are available daily, the statement said, adding that the first and last shuttle bus depart at 9 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. respectively. The shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes.

According to the statement, the shuttle buses depart at North Gate 2’s bus pick-up area on Level L2 of the Zhuhai-side checkpoint zone of the Hengqin joint checkpoint.

The MNN estate is located at No. 388-389 Xiangshun Road, Hengqin.
