Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak announced yesterday that the Zhuhai Public Security Bureau had requested assistance from local police in the investigation of a homicide case in Zhuhai involving four individuals.
Wong identified the three victims in the case as a Macau woman, her 9-year-old son, and her ex-boyfriend from the mainland. He did not reveal the identity of the fourth victim, her boy-friend at the time of the crime.
According to Wong, the ex-boyfriend visited the woman’s flat on Saturday and committed the crime using a knife, killing the three victims before taking his own life. Wong noted that the crime is believed to be related to a “domestic dispute”.
In response to the tragedy, the Judiciary Police (PJ) have notified the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) to provide support to the school attended by the young victim, Wong said.
Wong added that the deceased woman had no relatives living in Macau, and her eldest daughter is currently studying in the mainland. The daughter has been informed of the crime in a phone call. Wong underlined that the case is still under investigation, and any further information to be released will be determined and handled by the authorities in Zhuhai. He also noted that Macau will disclose partial information in accordance with the right to know.
