Elderly woman robbed by tourist

A Filipino was arrested on Monday for robbing an elderly local woman of 8,700 patacas last Tuesday night, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said during a special briefing yesterday.

According to the spokesperson, the unemployed suspect, surnamed Flores, is a 35-year-old tourist while the victim, surnamed Chong, is a 64-year-old retiree. It is the second time the suspect has visited Macau.

The spokesperson said the suspect robbed the victim at about 8 p.m. last Tuesday near Largo da Cordoaria. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground from behind and grabbed her bag before running away.
