Kenya’s Peter Kimeli Some and North Korea’s Kim Ji-hyang won the men’s and women’s 35th Galaxy Entertainment Macau International Marathon yesterday respectively.
While Some finished the race in 2 hours, 12 minutes and 52 seconds, Kim clocked up 2 hours, 36 minutes and 16 seconds. According to Wikipedia, Some’s marathon best stands at 2.05:38 hours. Kim’s personal best is 2.28:06, according to all-athletics.com
Some won US$47,000. Kim took home US$40,000.
Fellow Kenyans Dominic Kangor Kimwetich and Suleiman Kipkesis Simotwo finished the men’s marathon in second and third place respectively.
