22nd Fringe Festival’s ’Art Exhibition for All’ calls for works

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) is calling for the submission of works for its “Art Exhibition for All” to be presented as part of the 22nd Macao City Fringe Festival, slated to take place from January 17 to 28, the bureau said in a statement last Friday.

Submissions can be made until this Friday.

The exhibition uses the concept “All around the city, our stages, our patrons, our artists” and is set to take place at the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory in Taipa from January 17 to 22 and Areia Preta Urban Park in the northern district, near the Areia Preta Health Centre, from January 23 to 28, according to the statement.

The statement noted that artworks and the participants’ application forms (which can be downloaded on www.icm.gov.mo or www.macaucityfringe.gov.mo) are to be submitted to the Cultural Affairs Bureau in Praça do Tap Seac or the exhibition sites during the exhibition period. Moreoever, the participant can  also create their artworks on the spot at a designated on-site improvisation zone.

Meanwhile, the statement added that the 22nd Macao City Fringe Festival will feature 17 programmes and a raft of outreach activities. The programmes include “25Feet”, which is jointly presented by The100Hands from the Netherlands and More Production from Shanghai; “Let the Flower in Your Heart Bloom” which features dance instructors and choreographers Stella Ho (何雅詩) and Leong Iek Kei; and “The Crow Clowns”, Macau’s original clown theatre that features a combination of clowning and juggling, the statement said

Tickets for the festival can be bought through the Macau Ticketing Network. One may call the 24-hour ticketing hotline on 2855 5555 or visit www.macauticket.com to purchase.

Moreover, the statement said that three sessions of the “Creative Workshops for All”, namely “Children’s Creative Light Clay Workshop”, “Creative Family Woodcraft Workshop”, and “Creative Electronics Workshop”, will take place on January 13 and 14. The artworks created during the three sessions will also be displayed at the upcoming exhibition. Registration can be made on activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5/activity-list-web until Thursday, entailing a fee of 50 patacas. One may also call 8399 6872 during office hours.
