Students from the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) majoring in its Culinary Arts Management bachelor’s degree programme took part in a Q&A session with globally acclaimed English celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay during his recent visit to Macau, according to an IFTM statement on Saturday.
The session took place at the newly opened Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at The Londoner Macao in Cotai.
Accompanied by IFTM alumni and faculty members, the statement noted that the students asked Chef Ramsay a host of questions, and delved into aspects such as his culinary knowledge, business startups and management insight.
The statement said that his responses were “insightful and inspiring”, adding that the celebrity chef shared “a wealth of knowledge and captivating stories” with students.
The statement said that Chef Ramsay “serves as an exemplary role model for IFTM students, embodying qualities and achievements they can aspire to”. The higher education institution, which is set to be upgraded to a university in the next academic year, also noted that the interaction was integral to their education.
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants was founded in 1997.
