Among the four elected local members of the 300-head Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), three are newcomers to the standing committee.
During the fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee in Beijing yesterday, former Macau chief executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah was re-elected as a vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
2,144 CPPCC members voted for Ho, or 100 percent of the members of the nation’s top advisory body who attended the meeting. Its new chairman, Wang Yang, also received 100 percent backing.
