A male from the mainland has been arrested for sexually harassing three females, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Cheong Im Sim said at a regular press conference yesterday.

The 35-year-old suspect surnamed Lin told the police he’s a businessman. The victims, aged between 25 and 34, comprise two mainland visitors and a non-resident worker (NRW) from Malaysia.

According to Cheong, on Thursday afternoon, while the Malaysian victim was in the process of checking out of a hotel in Cotai, a man touched her buttocks. The victim then witnessed the same man touching the backsides of two other women who were checking in at the adjacent counter. She promptly reported the case to the police with the help of hotel staff.

Police identified the man as Lin and arrested him at a hotel guestroom of the same hotel later that day. Under questioning, Lin admitted to the offences and told the police that he couldn’t control himself because he found the three women attractive.

Lin has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), where he faces a sexual harassment charge, Cheong said.
