A female motorcycle rider died yesterday afternoon after crashing with an armoured cash-in-transit vehicle, Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday.
The statements said the accident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on Rua Cidade de Sintra near Wynn Macau.
The local woman was in her 20s, while the local driver of the armoured vehicle is a 60-year-old man, the statement said.
The woman was rushed to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre for emergency treatment. The PSP statement said that the rider was not breathing and had no heartbeat when she arrived at the hospital.
The armoured truck’s driver passed a breathalyser test, the statement said, adding that the police have launched an investigation into the exact cause of the accident.
The police are asking witnesses to the accident to call its Traffic Department on 28374214.
